You know my name, how many kids I have, where I live and a little bit about what I like to do with my free time. Seems like time to share why I doula.

The short answer is that I sort of I fell into the role. I was the first in my circle to have a baby and, by process of elimination, that meant the one person I had to turn to for practical advice was... me. So, I set out to teach myself. And in the process I went from someone who saw birth as a “means to an end” to the realization that, perhaps, it could be something more.

When my friends started having babies, they turned to me as their most trusted (ha!) source of information. This is where I started sharing my many accumulated birth tips and tricks and planting the seed that birth doesn’t have to be scary. In 2015, when my sister-in-law’s hired doula had to leave during her birth, I was the Hail Mary tag in and I got to witness my very first birth through the lens of a support person. The rest was history!

Hi! I’m Lori.

I am passionate about all things babies and birthing! I have two not-so-little children (21 and 17), and 2 dogs I “think” that I birthed, Sadie (goldendoodle), and Sam (labradoodle).

As your doula, I’m here to help you enter the birth of your dreams with curiosity, clarity, confidence, and a sense of calm. I will empower you to be educated, (but not overwhelmed) by your options, so that you can trust in yourself and connect with your mind and body. This is YOUR unique birth story, and I’m here to guide you in a way that feels authentic to you. I will be right by your side tuning into YOUR NEEDS with a treasure chest of comfort measures and soothing techniques that support you both physically and emotionally. With a balanced mix of encouragement, motivation, breathing strategies, movement or stillness, and positive energy, I will strive to ensure you always feel cared for, heard, respected, and understood.

Whether you are planning for a hospital setting or a home birth, I would love to chat more with you about your birthing vision and how I could support you in this exciting journey

Random Timbits

· Fit*ish* lifestyle and all, at the end of the day, I WILL eat that whole pizza. By myself.

· Trash TV or not, I love ALL of the 90 Day Fiancé franchises. It is what it is.

· The root of all happiness lies with Hallmark Christmas movies.

· There is a right way and a wrong way to load a dishwasher. Mine is the right way.

· I think I meant to title this “Random Tidbits,” not Timbits. But I’m going to leave it.
